RUGBY UNION: It's hosts v holders

THE draw for the 51st Abingdon Sevens sees the hosts grouped with defending champions Chinnor.

Abingdon have been drawn in Group C alongside Chinnor, Bicester, Apple Growers and Pony Smackers for the event on August 20.

Banbury and Witney should vie for top spot in Group A, Oxford Harlequins will be favourites in Group B, while Group D looks open.

Full Draw Group A: Banbury, Brackley, Procul Aparatus, Wallingford, Witney. Group B: Grove, Kingsclere, Oxford Harlequins, Withems Elves. Group C: Abingdon, Apple Growers, Bicester, Chinnor, Pony Smackers. Group D: Crookham Crusaders, Old Epsomians, RBS Royals, Wheatley.

*Depending on final group positions, teams will progress to either the cup, plate or bowl competition.
