From the Oxford Mail, first published Wednesday 10th May 2006.
s=9CHINNOR are to consider creating a new club to further competitive rugby for their lower ranked teams.
o The proposal will be voted on at their AGM on May 24, but president Kenny Vaughan stressed there was "no intention whatsoever to change the name from Chinnor RFC".
He said: "One or two members are putting forward a proposal to give other people the chance of playing competitive rugby.
"The rationale behind it is that is similar to what you have with Newbury Stags and Henley Wanderers."
There is a limit to how high Chinnor's third and fourth teams can progress in the league pyramid.
Vaughan said the motion, if passed, would get around this in time for 2007/08.
Similar decisions have enabled Henley Wanderers to reach South West 2 East, while Newbury Stags have just won the BB&O Premier Division.
Vaughan added: "In no way will Chinnor not be called Chinnor. Chinnor first XV is sacrosanct, that will never change.
"Chinnor is a brand name that is becoming more and more recognised."
