Podgy pooch Keller was showing off her new slimline figure in the finals of a Pet Slimmer of the Year competition today.
The eight-year-old German Shepherd piled on the pounds with tit-bits and snacks, but lost 10kg - 22 per cent of her body weight - to reach the national finals of the contest in London.
Owner Jo Pounds, 35, of Field Close, Kidlington, said: "The children fed her crusts off sandwiches and whenever I had a biscuit, so would the dog. My husband has a sweet tooth and would give the dog sweets." Keller's weight ballooned to 45kg - almost 100lb - but a special diet prescribed by the vet soon had her fighting the flab.
Jo said: "She didn't like her new food much and she was always hungry.
"I was very strict with her - I wish I had the same willpower myself."
